CT colonography, sometimes referred to as virtual colonoscopy, uses low-dose CT imaging to generate detailed three-dimensional views of the colon and rectum. It is a non-invasive option for colorectal cancer screening and polyp detection that does not require sedation or an endoscopic procedure.
Preparation is similar to standard colonoscopy and includes a bowel cleanse to ensure optimal visualization. If significant polyps or other abnormalities are identified, a conventional colonoscopy is recommended for confirmation and removal.
Within the longevity program, LDCT colonography is included in higher-tier memberships as part of a comprehensive cancer screening strategy. All findings are interpreted by a radiologist and reviewed with you by your internal medicine physician, with clear recommendations for follow-up and further evaluation when appropriate.
