DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) is the clinical gold standard for measuring bone mineral density and body composition. A single scan (typically 10 to 15 minutes, with minimal radiation exposure) quantifies bone density at the spine and hip (the sites most relevant to fracture risk), along with total and regional body composition: lean muscle mass, fat mass, visceral fat, and limb-by-limb distribution.
DEXA is included in every tier of both the Menopause and Longevity programs, with repeat intervals scaled to the tier. Results are interpreted in context: bone density is assessed against age and menopause status for fracture-risk stratification, and body composition is tracked against exercise, nutrition, and any hormone therapy over time. Integria has access to an in-house DEXA scanner, which simplifies scheduling and repeat imaging.
